What to Expect

Your initial consultation is free and without obligation. Should you wish to proceed with treatment the information gathered during your consultation will be used to write a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

During treatment sessions I usually use a combination of Hypnotherapy, NLP, TFT, Time Line Therapy and Life Coaching skills, depending on your requirements. Therapy sessions are conducted in a relaxed and informal way, but are extremely focussed and results oriented.


People who have not experienced hypnosis before are often unsure of what to expect and may have seen, or heard about experiences with stage hypnosis which may have put them off. Hypnotherapy is very different to stage hypnosis. Please read the following questions and answers which dispel some of the myths surrounding hypnotherapy:

1. Can you make me do anything I don’t want to?

No. During a hypnotherapy session your body will feel relaxed, but your mind will be very focussed. You will still be fully in control of yourself and if at any time you wanted to end the session you would be able to.

2. Will I tell you all my secrets?

No. You will be relaxed but aware and will not tell me anything you wouldn’t be comfortable telling me under normal circumstances.

3. Will I fall asleep and have no memory of the session?

The majority of clients do not fall asleep during the session, however should this happen to you, I will gently bring you back into awareness using my voice.

4. What if I can’t be hypnotised?

The belief that only weak minded people can be hypnotised is false. Anyone can be hypnotised, it’s a matter of choice and choosing hypnosis to make positive changes in your life is the kind of choice made by strong minded, intelligent people!


Anything you tell me will be kept under the strictest confidence in the same way as when you visit your GP.

It is possible to treat clients effectively using NLP and hypnotherapy without knowing the details surrounding the route cause of their problem, so there will be no need to share any details you’d rather keep to yourself.


Although I deal with some very serious issues, whenever possible I like to inject some humour into my sessions. Laughter results in the release of endorphins and serotonin which improve mood, interleukins which boost the immune system, and more oxygen rich blood which promotes learning and helps to facilitate change.
